Volunteerism

I am passionate about community involvement, and giving back to not just the community that you live in but the industry that you are involved in. I have logged many hours of giving back throughout my career.

Personally

Since I was 13 years old, I have been volunteering at the Kenosha-West Rotary Club Softball Tournament. The is the largest fundraiser for the club. My father is a member and got me volunteering with this event. My brother and I were the first kids that club allowed volunteering at the event. I started out serving food, picked up the bases at the end of each day of the tournament, got scores from each diamond for the tournament’s commissioners, worked the kids games area, grilled the food, worked the beer tent, ran the beer cart, cleaned-up / take down each night of the tournament, and for the past 8 years or so I have been announcing the women’s games, including their championship game and announced last year’s game between the Kenosha Police Department and Kenosha Fire Department.

Broadcasting has always been a passion of mine ever since I was a little kid. I was part of my high school’s broadcasting program and interned in the sports department at Today’s TMJ4 in Milwaukee during college. Being able to announce these softball games, allows me to tap into that passion.

Below are Facebook Live videos from the Kenosha Rotary West Facebook of the 2016 Women’s Championship game. You can here my voice in the background announcing the game.

Professionally

Throughout my career I felt that it is very important to pass your knowledge on to your colleagues in the industry that you work in, as well as your colleagues in other industries. That is why I volunteer to be part of numerous organizations in my industry and out.
