The massive amount of people who will be viewing the big game, makes it one of the biggest marketing opportunities for brands. It is the one day a year that consumers actually look forward to seeing the commercials, and they even talk about them the next day. esportsThe National Basketball Association are looking to stay ahead of the curve and tap into the exploding world of online gaming. Seventeen teams from the NBA will be part of the upcoming 2K League, a competition it created in partnership with the developer of the popular NBA 2K series.  The new eSports league will kickoff its first season in May 2018. It’s a big deal for the gamers, and an innovative move by the NBA to expand its market.

Beginning in early 2018, gamers will start competing in “qualifiers” for a chance to be selected in early spring by the 17 NBA teams participating in the first-ever professional eSports league. Each team will be made up of five basketball gamers who will represent the NBA team. They’ll be official members of their respective organizations, which means they will get a contract and sponsorship deals, just like NBA players do.

Travel Oregon Launches a Video Game and It’s Awesome

I am nostalgic for things from when I was a kid. Oregon Trail was one of the original video games for me, and one that I have found memories of. So, when I heard that Travel Oregon launched ‘Travel Oregon: The Game’ as a homage to the classic video game, I had to check it out. I spent some time Saturday morning playing the game, showing my wife and son the game, and having fun traveling along the Oregon coast in the game. It definitely brought back memories of playing the original game, and yet provided me with ideas and suggestions of things to do in Oregon for when my family travels there. Not only did it bring back memories, it was also engaging and educated me on what you can do in Oregon.

YouTube TVThe 2017 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros kicked off on Tuesday night. The fall classic, no matter who is playing in it grabs my attention. Baseball is America’s past times and October baseball is one of the greatest sports joys. Clearly, one of the biggest stories from Game 1 was an ad, and it was the talk of social media during the game. The most prized ad real estate is the backstop behind home plate, it is the most visible spots in all of sports, as that spot is shown during every pitch of the game. YouTube game up with a clever way to utilize that spot, by having a banner advertising their YouTube TV.
