4 Ways Brands Can Use Twitter As A Customer Service Tool

Twitter Customer ServiceTwitter makes it incredibly easy for brands to connect with their consumers and for people to connect with other people of the same interest from all over the world. It’s why I still love twitter today. I love connecting with people in my industry, participating in chats like #BlogChat or #TourismChat, and tweeting about the big game with other fans from around the world. One of the other reasons that I enjoy Twitter is for the customer service that brands can provide their customers. I recently experiences this first hand. When my AT&T internet promotion expired, after getting no where by calling, I turned to Twitter. I tweeted to them and within an hour I received a response, saying they had me covered and to DM them. I proceeded to DM with them back and forth and finally receiving a fantastic new promotion. They provided great customer service right through Twitter.

Why Brands Should Create Content Before An Ad Campaign

Create Content before an ad campaignAs you know, I am big on content marketing and believe you should create content before an ad campaign. I feel that it is vital to the success of your overall marketing plan and affects your traditional advertising, social media posts / ads, SEO and more. When I talk to people and they tell me, yeah we have content, we write blog posts, I always ask them how often they publish blogs and are they creating content on other pages of their website. When I first got started in marketing I thought I knew the concept of content marketing and what had to be done; content marketing referred to blogs and traditional marketing was everything else being TV, radio, newspaper, billboards, etc. Bottom line, I was under the impression that content marketing started and stopped with blogging, but there is much more to it than that. I then changed my strategy and started creating content on every page of the website, creating “guides” and experiential content that was both evergreen and niche targeted.

MLB Social MediaBaseball is back! To quote lyrics from the Go Cubs Go song, ‘Baseball season’s underway, well you better get ready for a brand new day.’ With opening day today in Milwaukee, I want to take a look at what businesses can learn from MLB to correctly do social media. I am Brewers fan, so I am biased to their social media. First, I was happy for the Cubs that they won the World Series in 2016. It was cool to see the city so electric, was extremely awesome. I remember the Brewers playoff run in 2011, going to all the home games and feeling the city pounding beneath my foot. It’s what playoff baseball is all about and what baseball can do for a city.

Why Twitter Is Still Relevant

TwitterTwitter has always been my favorite Social Media network. You can interact with beat reports of your favorite sports team during the game, meet people from across the country in the industry you work in, network with people, share your expertise, interact with people while watching your favorite TV show or at a conference, and see what people are saying about a variety of topics. I love watching a game or a national event through my Twitter feed. It provides me with great insight into what is happening during the game or event, plus, it can be absolutely hilarious sometimes.

Which is why I thoroughly enjoyed Twitter during the presidential debates and feel that Twitter is still relevant. According to Twitter, the first presidential debate was the most tweeted about presidential debate ever, as there was fact-checking tweets, hilarious memes, a fantastic commentary from tweeters around the country. In recent weeks there has been a lot of speculation of a Twitter takeover, the engagement boost that the platform received should emphasis its’ strength.

But what makes Twitter so relevant during the debates and other live events?

Facebook Live Tips and Ideas

wersm-twitter-buys-periscope-video-streaming-app-657x360I was finally able to do a Facebook Live video recently on an organization’s page. I was more excited about this than I probably should have been. I have been itching to do a ‘Live’ Facebook video ever since I heard they were launching it. I couldn’t wait for Facebook to feature live video beyond celebrities and verified pages, so that everyone can get in on the bandwagon. Live streaming has been around for a couple of years now, but really caught steam with Meerkat, and Periscope. Before I even used it, I thought this would be huge, especially when I was at Visit Lake County. Pages were already seeing an uptick in engagement when you uploaded a video directly to Facebook vs. posting the Youtube link.  Read more
